Dublin Bus has partnered with the Docklands Summer Festival which is taking place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May. The Festival is a free outdoor family event with lots to see and do on water and on land. Showcasing Dublin’s regenerated Docklands this year’s festival is celebrating the 221st Birthday of the Grand Canal Basin.
The Festival utilises the unique urban setting of Grand Canal Dock to showcase exciting on water sporting activities and on land family amusements. A number of Dublin Bus routes serve the area including routes 1, 15a/b, 47, 56a, 77a and 151.
On water activities include an international wakeboarding competition, charity rubber ducky race, water sport ‘Came and Try It’ sessions and a corporate raft challenge. On land activities include a food market, corporate golf challenge, street performers, balloon artists, face painters, fun fair attractions and a children’s arts centre in the Waterways Ireland Visitor Centre.
