Increased traffic volumes and extensive Luas Cross City works mean this Autumn/Winter is an extremely busy month for commuters and Dublin Bus.
Luas Cross City works have reduced the availability of road capacity in the already busy city centre area, closing lanes in several locations. While Autumn/Winter is a busy time, Dublin Bus is doing everything we can to ensure your commute remains stress free.
The new College Green ‘Bus Gate’ operates between 7am-7pm Monday-Friday. The extended hours of the bus gate are designed to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow for buses, cyclists and pedestrians. This will enable Dublin Bus to continue to maintain quality service standards during this busy period and the extended hours will greatly aid reliability in journey times.
Dublin Bus has more Customer Support in place to provide real-time information and responses to customers via Social Media. This enables the delivery of clear and accurate information on services to customers during this busy time.
The Dublin Bus app gives customers access to real-time information, bus stop locations and many more features that allow them to plan their journey. We are constantly updating the app and will soon be able to deliver real-time alerts directly to it which will make the customer’s journey planning easier. We recently celebrated the one millionth download of our popular app which is available to download for free from the iTunes App Store or for Android from the Google Play Store.
A full team of inspectors are watching the city in real-time and responding to traffic conditions and incidents all across Dublin. Our inspectors work in tandem with drivers and AVL technology to continue to provide our customers with an accurate and reliable bus service.
Dublin Bus continuously monitors its schedules to cater for increased levels of traffic and customers. In 2015 we have made changes to 22 schedules so that we can create a better experience for our customers.
