The Gathering Ireland 2013

The Gathering Ireland 2013 is about the people of Ireland inviting anyone with a connection to Ireland to come and visit our country this year. The initiative is supporting individuals, communities, businesses and organisations in attracting up to 325,000 extra visitors to Ireland.

There are 70 million Irish Diaspora located all over the world and they are all are invited to experience Ireland at its very best in 2013.

The Gathering has many stakeholders, partners and supporters, including Government departments, State bodies, local authorities, local development companies, private businesses, the global Irish community and the tourism industry. The initiative is also fully supported by Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland. But Irish individuals and community groups – both at home and abroad – are at the heart of the Gathering.

Individuals, families, communities, sports clubs, colleges and businesses etc. will host special events to highlight what is unique about their community and Ireland as a whole.  They will reach out to their international networks, friends and colleagues, or even people they are connected to but haven’t met yet, and invite them to Ireland for a fun-filled year of celebration.

2013 is going to be an incredible year in Ireland with a jam-packed calendar of local gatherings and events alongside international festivals, concerts, sporting events, music, drama, literature, dance and lots more.
