Clerical Officer for Media and Communications

Dublin Bus is currently recruiting Clerical Officers in our Media and Communications Department.

Role and Purpose

  • Support the Media and Communications Executive in implementing effective consumer PR initiatives
  • Media Relations
  • Responsible for annual events associated with the Dublin Bus Schools Education Programme
  • Administration of the Dublin Bus Community Spirit Awards
  • Provide administrative support as required to the Media and Communications Executive and Media and Communications Manager

Summary areas of responsibility

Consumer PR

  • Assist with planning and implementing campaigns in line with the consumer PR strategy, including events, photo calls etc.
  • Devise and implement digital engagement strategy for all consumer PR campaigns across the company’s social media channels
  • Create, maintain and update social media content calendar for campaigns
  • Social listening: monitor customer conversations online and across social media channels
  • Produce photography and video content to support consumer PR strategy for social media and internal channels

Media Relations

  • Respond to media queries on company issues
  • Provide shared on-call service for media queries outside office hours.
  • Monitor and collate all media coverage relating to Dublin Bus

Corporate Responsibility 

  • Organise and facilitate media and launch events in line with the Dublin Bus Community Spirit Initiative
  • Liaise with School and Community Co-ordinators in planning and implementing events for the Schools Education Programme
  • Prepare and manage all administration for the Dublin Bus Community Spirit Awards

Experience / Skills

  • Qualification in Public Relations
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge / experience of social media is essential
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Experience of SAP is desirable

Salary: €27,000 - €40,000 (depending on experience)
