Director of Innovation and Technical Services

Location: Dublin
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
The successful candidate will:
- Develop and manage a Business Unit Plan that aligns with the Corporate Strategy, translating it into actionable plans for daily operations and services to ensure alignment with organisational priorities and objectives.
- Identify and implement organisational wide initiatives focused on innovative and technological solutions, leveraging data-driven strategies to enhance operations, enable decision-making, and elevate the customer experience.
- Provide strategic support, oversight, and coordination for the successful delivery of capital projects, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and objectives.
- Champion a customer-centric approach, with an unwavering commitment to not only meeting but surpassing the expectations of Dublin Bus customers, consistently striving for a best-in-class experience.
- Establish robust performance metrics and monitoring mechanisms to track functional performance, identify areas for enhancement, and proactively drive continuous technological and service improvements.
Applications are invited from candidates who have:
- Minimum 8-years’ experience in senior leadership roles managing technology development, innovation initiatives, and project coordination with complex organisations.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a field related to engineering, technology, innovation management, business administration, or related field.
- In-depth knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in innovation and technology development, preferably within the context of the transportation sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills at an Executive Team level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and focus on continuous improvement.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Willingness to work outside standard office hours as required.
